A bit more beardy and experienced, we take to the road for the long journey to the Smokies!
Yellville, AR, home of the Turkey Trot in which wild turkeys were once thrown from planes in an annual event. Does it still exist? The locals will never tell!
We made it to the Lady Luck Casino! We paid for our spot, but plotted to take our money back on the Casino floor!
When we arrived, the casino was already underwater. We took this as a good sign.
Between some sweet video poker hands and a couple of lucky slot pulls, things were looking good…
Score! We walked out big happy winners, just like the picture behind us promoted that we would! Thank you Lady Luck (loot, loot, loot)!
Giddy from our victory, we decided that it was time to purify the fresh water tank for future journeys. A little bleach mix, and we could now stop buying copious amounts of bottled water and comfortably drink straight from our fresh water tank! HUGE development!!!

Our first battle with rush hour traffic in Nashville…
Kept the speed low, watched the road waaaay ahead, and checked the mirrors constantly for crazies flying up on the sides. With an awesome co-pilot/navigator, rush hour in a RV is quite manageable!

Distance Travelled: 214 mi.
Performing a double fill in Lebanon, TN before we rolled on to the Smokies. Doofus Scotty move right here. By filling the Jeep up with gas, we now had to haul unnecessary extra weight for over 200 miles. Duh. Lesson learned!
Our first good view of the Smokies. The elation and relief in the RV at this point in our journey was at an all-time high! (excited faces not included)
What a spot! Gotta’ say, Traci did a heck of a job finding this place!
The peaceful creek behind the RV and the calm forest exceeded all of our expectations. What an amazing place for a nice, relaxing, way overdue vacation!
Well, has the RV life transition been worth the risk, all the work, and all of the challenges? At this point in the journey, we would both say, without a doubt, “YES!!!”
